Field Electrical Engineer

Salzgitter Germany, Lower Saxony

Job Title: Field Electrical Engineer
Location: Salzgitter, Germany
Start Date: As soon as possible
Duration: 6 months (renewable)
Work Schedule: 10 x 6 (10 hours per day, 6 days per week)

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the on-site electrical engineering point of contact for the project in Salzgitter, coordinating with internal engineering teams and external/field contractors.

  • Perform electrical cable design, sizing and connections (note: no switchboards work).

  • Review and verify cable layouts, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit and fault current calculations where required, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards. Hire IT People+2LotusWorks+2

  • Inspect and monitor installation work on site, ensuring that the electrical works follow design, installation specifications and high-quality standards.

  • Liaise with construction site personnel, project planners and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of electrical engineering scope, flagging potential issues early.

  • Produce clear engineering reports, progress updates, and technical documentation as required by the project.

  • Ensure safe working practices and compliance with health, safety and environmental guidelines relevant to electrical installation and field operations.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent technical qualification.

  • Proven experience (several years) as an electrical engineer in field/industrial construction projects. Experience in cable design and sizing is essential.

  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems (cables, connections, etc.), familiar with relevant standards and installation practices.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, able to work effectively on site and with multi-discipline teams.

  • Able to work under the 10 x 6 schedule on-site in Germany.

  • Valid passport / work rights for Germany (or ability to obtain).

  • English language proficiency is required, German a plus.

  • Willingness to relocate temporarily to Salzgitter and to live in company-provided accommodation.
